User Interface

The Reino MX uses an innovative customizable decal design to accommodate customized user interfaces. These decals come in three pieces:

• Rate card provides information about  the parking authority, payment options , machine ID and support numbers.
• Top door decal provides visual cues for payment and works in conjunction with LCD display.
• Optional bottom door decal may be used to accommodate paid or community based advertising. 

The machine is equipped with a graphical LCD using black text on a white illuminated background. The LCD has full graphical, numeric and text based capabilities and can accommodate character-based languages. It measures 2.5”(6cm) by 4.5”(11.5cm), and can display multiple lines and different sized fonts.

The LCD illuminates upon pressing of any action button, or commencement of any means of payment. This ensures that payment can be accommodated in a user-friendly manner in low or no light conditions.

The LCD displays context-sensitive help to promote the user experience. Motorists are instructed at each stage of the payment process, and assisted if they attempt to use the machine incorrectly.

In standby mode, the machine displays the current time and a fully customizable screen message. During payment, the machine displays the maximum allowable parking fee, the payment being made and the end of parking time for the purchase.

The display will also indicate all necessary operating status messages to users/staff, such as but not limited to:

• Coin only/card only – if one of the slots is inoperable.
• mPARK only- if other options are inoperable (optional).
• Card Error-if card is inserted improperly.
• Out of order- if machine is down.
• After hours/rush hour/holiday-will not let motorist pay.
• Out of Service- No Parking.                                           

Action Buttons

There are a total of four buttons on the MX, consisting of:

• A ticket issue button.
• A ticket cancel button.
• Two configurable buttons used primarily for selecting credit card payment amount or handicap parking, truck zones or for selection of alternate languages.

 When these buttons are not configured for use, their activation will generate an automatic message on the LCD instructing the motorist how to pay for parking.

Internet based Realtime Management

The optional ReinoNet Parking Management System is a comprehensive database application used for the management of an on-street parking installation.  For the duration of the contract, Reino will host and maintain the ReinoNet management application, which will be available online to all authorized personnel for purposes of citation adjudication, service and performance reporting and management of meter inventory and audits.  ReinoNet provides the following key management functions:

Real-time telemetry monitoring of all MX meters, which are enabled with cellular wireless communications.  This facility provides immediate notification of all service effecting alarms and manages the notification of fault status to the service technicians. Sensors can also detect break-ins or attempt of theft of the unit.

Meter asset management includes records of all meter locations, hours of operation, configurations, parking rates and other relevant data.

Meter maintenance and inspection records are maintained in the management system and provide the ability to access the maintenance and performance history of either a single meter or a collection of meters.

Revenue collection reporting includes a central secure repository of all revenue collected by the meters.  Sources include wireless communications, intelligent cash box , cash collection and count process. 

Enforcement Inspection and meter up-time analysis using Sneaker Net; each Reino meter maintains a record of each enforcement inquiry made of it.  Most importantly, meter maintenance records and their potential impact on the legitimacy of any particular parking citation can be immediately identified within ReinoNet.
